  EMERGENCY! Need some ideas

  so tomorrow is mrs slh's birthday and i need an imaginative idea for a present around $50.

  she loves neckalces, handgabs and shoes so i've bought her loads of those.

  i'm looking for something a bit more imaginative and i am stacked out at work today so don't have the time to trawl the net for ideas.

  I love buying my lady lingerie but have given up after having several attempts meet with the same thing - it makes her feel chunky. We've both put on a few pounds since we moved to Australia and it's really hit her self esteem even though she looks great. We've been trying for a baby and have been going through fertility treatment which has made her so tired she finds it difficult to exercise much.

  The facial/massage idea is a great one, I bought her a new necklace/earing set last night which she opened this morning and like, I also got her a couple of books including the new CSIRO diet book (nothing like killing two birds with one stone huh?) which she liked.

  I would buy her perfume but to be honest neither of us wear anything with a strong scent since we moved here, we find that it attracts flies!

  I'm glad the aloe vera gel is working, it really cools the skin. If you have a tatt that covers alot of space, as it heals you tend to get alot of heat and it becomes very itchy, I find that the aloe gel works well to relieve this.

  i had been having bad gas for a few days...when i mean bad, i mean clear the room bad and call in hazmat, it was so bad my dog left the room crying.. anyway, i was at the mall and i had to let one go and a man passed by and he said, "dam, they must be repairing the sewage pipes.

  " i said, yeah, huh.

  i was having a bad day but i just had to laugh.

  I used to work in a grocery supermarket on the night shift, stacking shelves in the frozen food section. We would work one person to an aisle for about 8 hours a night. Now I am renowned for having pretty bad wind, it wasn't until recently that I was diagnosed as being lactose intolerant and having IBS so I guess that explains it.

  Anyway, one night I let rip so badly that my boss smelt it the next aisle over, he felt so sick that him and a couple of the other guys stuck me in a 4 sided cage, wrapped it in cellophane and stuck me up in the air on a forklift truck. I learnt to overdose on the chalk tablets after that when I had wind.

  I used to cycle to work regularly (3 days a week) and do JuJitsu in the evenings, since I stopped I started eating and drinking more and stacked on about 25 lbs over a year or so. So now it's time to get in gear and do something about it so I am slim and fit again by Xmas, my goal is to get down to 185lbs by the end of september and under 180lbs by Xmas. Obviously my long term goal is to keep the weight off and live longer. I've also not had a cigarette for 3 months (yay me!) which has contributed to the weight gain, if this all works out I intend to live forever!

  Low carb...............high protein diet

  ok so now im more confused than ever.................... i have found out information that says you should eat 1gram of protein to every lb you weigh...............ok i can do that , i thought.

  4oz--100gram chicken breast, thats not a lot, but that is not how its calculated .

  100 grams of chicken is only 14 g protein.. so if i ate only chicken for a day say 10oz--300 gram................= 1,120 calories ( my limit ) its only 42 grams of protein.. can anyone explain it, have i got it wrong .

  I am going to start by doing the cycle trip just twice a week for the moment, I cycled both ways on thursday last week and one way on tuesday. I'm plannign on cycling both ways tomorrow and thursday this week, I'll let you know how it goes.

  Creating a new gym soundtrack

  so after the diet thread i'm finally getting round to moving my fat arse back to the gym regularly.

  i need to freshen up the mix of tracks on my ipod so i have something to give me a little boost while i am on the cross trainer or the running machine.

  anyone got any suggestions?

  some great suggestions there.

  I'm into a pretty wide range of music, I went through the metal scene for a long time and then the britpop/dance thing in my late 20's so I'll listen to anything good.

  The mix on my iPod at the moment has a couple of Prodigy songs, a couple of Linkin Park tracks and some Slipknot. I am definitely going to have Josh Wink's "Higher State of Consciousness" on there and I am looking for some high bpm tracks.

  I started putting together a new mix last night, I fkin HATE itunes, it is the worst piece of software ever.
